Tom Clancy has once again proved that he is the master of military fiction with his third book, The Patriot Games. This book immersed me in the story after page one with its exciting, action-packed, edge-of-your-seat plot.

In the book, Jack Ryan is an ex-Marine who is teaching history at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. When he takes a vacation in London, he witnesses a assassination attempt on the Prince and Princess of Wales and their newborn baby by the ULA, a breakaway Irish terrorist group from the PIRA. He intervenes and disables one gunman while killing another. Now, Jack Ryan must pay for his salvation.... with he and his family's' lives.

This book was a intriguing and compelling read. It was a perfect mix between action and suspense and humor and relaxation. This book has more mature themes and I would recommend this book to older readers. All in all, this book is ranked up there as one my favorite books and I would highly recommend this book to any kind of advanced readers.
