Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Every medical student must be able to take an accurate history and perform a physical examination. This third edition of History and Clinical Examination at a Glance provides a concise, highly illustrated companion which will help you develop these critical skills as you practice on the wards. This book is the perfect guide for medical, and health science students and junior doctors, as an ideal resource for clinical attachments, last minute revision, or whenever a refresher is needed.

Book News Annotation:

In this quick reference, Gleadle (medicine, Flinders U., Australia) demonstrates to medical students, residents, junior doctors, and health professionals history and clinical examination skills for each of the body systems and various presentations and conditions. He covers key history taking skills, including relationships with patients, family history, and functional inquiry, and conditions like heart failure, cough, headache, urinary symptoms, asthma, stroke, AIDS and HIV, and dementia, with topics presented in a one or two-page spread with illustrations and explanations of questions to ask and examination techniques. This edition has a new section on the development of communication skills in different situations. There is no bibliography. Annotation ©2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
