Aunt Stina, July 6, 2012 (view all comments by Aunt Stina)
This book by Mark Teague has illustrations that are charming as Wallace Bleff tells his teacher and classmates about his summer vacation. On his way to his aunt's, Wallace is captured by cowboys and becomes a buckaroo. The most intriguing illustration is the boy's staredown with a bull. The brief and concise postcard to his aunt telling of his delay had parents and children giggling at storytime. At the end, the threat of what he might bring for show and tell has me hoping Wallace Bleff has more tales to tell in the future!
