About the Author
Chen Lianshan is Associate Professor in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University, where he also completed his doctoral studies. He is director of teaching and research in Folk Literature and a board member of the China Folklore Society. Engaged in the research and teaching of Chinese folk literature for many years, he has published widely on the subject of ancient Chinese mythology.
