Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Being able to detect black magic isnt all tea and crumpets—and for Theodosia Throckmorton, it can be a decidedly tricky business! When Sticky Will drags Theo to a magic show featuring the Great Awi Bubu, she quickly senses there is more to the magician than he lets on . . .

Meanwhile, back at the Museum of Legends and Antiquities, Henry is home for the spring holidays and discovers an artifact that alchemists have been hunting for centuries. Soon, every occultist in London is after it.

Synopsis:

The next riveting adventure in the Theodosia Throckmorton series!

About the Author

R. L. LaFEVERS grew up in Los Angeles, California surrounded by a gaggle of brothers who taught her an awful lot about how to get into mischief of all kinds, much like our clever Theodosia Throckmorton. When getting her brothers out of scrapes (again, like Theo), she usually had her nose buried in a book.

Now she lives on a small ranch in Southern California with her husband, two teenaged sons (who are also very good at getting into mischief and scrapes of one sort or another), a dog who thinks hes a person, and a cat who is really a tigress in disguise.

YOKO TANAKA lives in Los Angeles and Bangkok with her husband and three cats. Aside from illustrating Book I & II of the Theodosia Throckmorton series, she illustrated forthcoming novel The Magician's Elephant (Candlewick) by Kate DiCamillo. Her artwork may be found at http://www.yokotanaka.com.
