Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Thirteen-year-old Jonah has always known that he was adopted, and he's never thought it was any big deal. Then he and a new friend, Chip, who's also adoped, begin receiving mysterious letters. The first one says, You are one of the missing. The second one says, Beware They're coming back to get you.

Jonah, Chip, and Jonah's sister, Katherine, are plunged into a mystery that involves the FBI, a vast smuggling operation, an airplane that appeared out of nowhere — and people who seem to appear and disappear at will. The kids discover they are caught in a battle between two opposing forces that want very different things for Jonah and Chip's lives.

Do Jonah and Chip have any choice in the matter? And what should they choose when both alternatives are horrifying?

With Found, Margaret Peterson Haddix begins a new series that promises to be every bit as suspenseful as her Shadow Children series — which has sold more than 41/2 million copies — and proves her, once again, to be a master of the page-turner.

Synopsis:

One night a plane appears out of nowhere, the only passengers aboard: 36 babies. As soon as they are taken off the plane, they vanish. Now, 13 years later, two of those children are receiving sinister messages, and they begin to investigate their past.

I LOVE this series! I am a substitute teacher and when I sub, a lot of times during our planning time, one middle school will ask us to donate the teacher's planning time in the library. I love working in the library! I find so many good books this way. I noticed the first book of the series, found, and read it. I was hooked! I read the whole series and when I got to the last one that had just got published, I asked the local library to buy it so I could read it! Can't wait to see what Mrs. Haddix comes up with in the next book!It is about 3 kids that go through history trying to return missing kids. hard to say much without spoiling the first book. When I am subbing I tell the kids about the series and also told one of the Language Arts teachers who said she was going to check it out
