Publisher Comments:

Far in the future, 60,000 light-years from Earth, a loose confederacy of Terran exiles is locked in battle with the enigmatic Protoss and the ruthless Zerg Swarm. Each species struggles to ensure its own survival among the stars in a war that will herald the beginning of mankind's greatest chapter — or foretell its violent, bloody end.

Danny Liberty was a good reporter...too good. When his investigations struck too close to the heart of the corrupt Terran Confederacy, he faced a simple choice: continue his current series of exposés, or take a hazardous new assignment covering the Marines on the front lines of the Koprulu Sector. It didn't take him long to decide....

Behind the attacks of the Zerg and the Protoss lies the story of a lifetime, but every piece of information blurs the mystery further. Thrown into the middle of a war where the outcome will determine mankind's very survival, the only thing that Danny Liberty knows for sure is that the only person he can trust to keep him alive is himself.

Starcraft: Liberty's Crusade begins on the Terran capital world Tarsonis with our protagonist Michael Liberty. Liberty is a journalist for the UNN(?) and is soon given an assignment aboard a Behemoth class Battlecruiser, specifically the Norad II. When grave news arrives on the Norad, Edmund Duke, Captain(?) at the time, is dispatched to investigate. As it turns out, the Protoss (An enigmatic, mysterious race of telepaths) have left nothing of a Confederate world but a smoldering heap in space. Now, her sister planet is in a state of upheaval and paranoia. When Confed. forces arrive on said planet, things start to get interesting, as Liberty is regaled with rumors of missing colonist civilians and xenomorph sightings. Liberty decides to take it upon himself to investigate. From here things get interesting as the plot develops and charachters native to the Starcraft franchise emerge, such as Jim Raynor, Sarah Kerrigan, and of course, Arcturas Mengsk. You'll soon discover what leads to the downfall of the Confederacy, the uprising of a new dictatorship, and the reasons behind all the terrible bloodshed. For native Starcrafters, I'd give this book a 4/5. For everyone else: a 3.5/5. Anybody that's a casual Starcraft player, or a "hardcore'' gamer should definitely pick this up.
