My son loves anything related to Charlie Brown and Snoopy, so this classic Halloween story is a must for anyone. I love the fact my son can identify what the story is about, and who the characters are. Charles Schulz makes the reader believe in Linus's conviction of the Great Pumpkin coming on Halloween night. You can identify with Sally wanting to believe in the Great Pumpkin with her "sweet baboo", and being conflicted about wanting to join in the party at Violet's. Schulz has a magical way about bringing his characters to life. Whether it's Lucy being irritated at Linus sitting in the pumpkin patch every year and looking like a fool in her eyes, Sally having to choose Linus or Trick or Treat fun, Charlie Brown wanting to be accepted and ending up with rock instead of candy, or Linus, himself, who is determined to prove everyone wrong about the Great Pumpkin. This classic comic brings laughter to each coming generation, while reminding older generations what it's like to believe in something or someone with no questions asked.
