This is a wonderful book for beginning kayakers. This book is complete, interesting and with enough humor to keep it interesting. Some of the descriptions of strokes and technical moves would be more clear with added diagrams instead of just word descriptions, but the information is solid. This is a great resource and also includes a beginning navigation introduction as well.
