Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Thank God he's a Monster!

When Robert Bruce Banner designed and created the Gamma Bomb for a top-secret military organization, he never anticipated being the first to be caught in his creation's devastating destruction. Nor would he have wanted to survive the blast had he known that from that day forward, he would be transformed like a nuclear-age Jekyll and Hyde into the monstrous unthinking creature known as the Incredible Hulk!

He's a monster, yes. A terrible condemnation of mankind's technological cruelty toward his fellow man. But there are many monsters in the world. And sometimes our only defense is another monster. These are the stories that helped create the legend.

This volume reprints Tales to Astonish #92-101, Incredible Hulk #102-117, and Incredible Hulk Annual #1. B&W.

Synopsis:

In this second collection of classic early material, General "Thunderbolt" Ross continues to stalk the Jade Giant while Dr. Bruce Banner strives to find a cure for his horrifying condition. It's not an easy path, as he must contend with the arrival of the Leader and the Abomination, two other humans who have been altered thanks to the merciless gamma radiation. The Hulk finds himself opposed by the army, super-villains, and even the love of his life, Betty Ross. It's certainly not easy being green, and all the child-like Hulk wants is to be left alone. Nice wish, but he's the only one who wants that. Everyone else wants him dead.

Synopsis:

The second volume containing the Hulk's early adventures with appearances by the Sub-Mariner, the Mandarin, Ka-Zar and Nick Fury.
