Contains 25 interviews, most of which are from the Yaffa Aliach Collection, donated by the Center for Holocaust Studies to the Museum of Jewish Heritage, New York. The narratives include Eva Schonbrun's remembrances of her sister who refused to leave her siblings and save herself, Emilie Schindler's account of rescuing Jews left abandoned on a cattle car, and Rose Meth and Anna Heilman's story of four women whose participation in the smuggling of gunpowder resulted in the explosion and burning of gas chambers and contributed to the eventual cessation of gassings in Birkenau. Several interviews were published previously in the Newsletter of the Center for Holocaust Studies. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (firstname.lastname@example.org)
