Your Happy Healthy Pet

30-minute large-breed training DVD contains bonus material specifically for your Boxer!

Dog behavioral trainer Peggy Moran shows you how proper training makes your best friend a Happy Healthy Petfor life.

The Boxer is a lover—not a fighter. Her sensitivity is astonishing and her eyes are almost human in their expression. She is devoted, fearless, and ready to defend her family. But the Boxer can also be a clown—she loves to romp and play, and her goofy personality will never cease to make you laugh. The Boxer makes a wonderful family pet, but her innate strength and natural tendency to leap require an owner who is willing to teach her the manners she needs to reach her full potential.

Packed with full-color photographs, this fun and practical guide gives you everything you need to make your relationship with your best friend even better. Inside, you'll find:

  • Characteristics to look for when choosing a Boxer

  • A list of supplies you'll need before you bring her home

  • Advice on grooming, feeding, and training

  • A reproducible pet-sitter chart to keep track of important information

A bonus DVD shows you that educating your Boxer positively is easier and more fun than you think. You'll learn how to teach your furry friend basic commands and tricks, correct inappropriate behaviors, and understand her unique personality.

Synopsis:

At last, a book about your pet that emphasizes total care, training and companionship! You'll not only learn about the specie-specific traits of your special pet, you'll also learn what the world's like from your pet's perspective; how to feed, groom and keep your pet healthy; and how to enjoy your pet through training and activities you can do together. The Boxer is written by a breed expert and includes a special chapter on training by Dr. Ian Dunbar, internationally renowned animal behaviorist, and chapters on getting active with your dog by long-time Dog Fancy magazine columnist Bardi McLennan. Best of all, the book is filled with info-packed sidebars and fun facts to make caring for your pet easy and enjoyable.
