About the Author

Maya Pindyck, who received an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College, is a poet and painter whose work has appeared widely. Besides teaching at the Frederick Douglass Acacemy VII in Brooklyn, she is also a co-founder of Project Voice, a growing compilation of women's abortion stories (www.theabortionproject,com). Her chapbook, Locket, Master, was published in 2006 by the Poetry Society of America.
