This book is a no-nonsense (okay...some nonsense) guide to the most beautiful, most fascinating, most unique flowers in the North Woods. Rick Kollath's 120 stunning watercolor illustrations make field identification easy. Innovative phenograms show you when each flower in in bloom. And all plants are grouped by habitat to make field identification easy. The real treasure in this book is the loads of "really?...I didn't know that!"-natural history facts. Find out how Skunk Cabbage is able to melt the snow around it. Meet the four carnivorous flowers in the North Woods. And much more!

Synopsis:

Organized by habitat, this useful field guide will help you identify wildflowers of the North. The 108 species in this book come with loads of fascinating information and are represented in beautiful, detailed, full-color illustrations.
