Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

A small dog, Spenser, and his mother explore the history and geography of Savannah, Georgia. They explore Savannahs history as a Blue Ribbon City, visit the Atlantic Ocean to learn about the animals found at the beach, discuss the mighty military surrounding Savannah, celebrate St. Patricks Day ""Savannah style,"" and of course visit a Kids Cafe to assist the Food Bank in its efforts to fight childhood hunger. This is the third in a series of childrens books that offer children and the adults in their lives fascinating, challenging, and compassionate learning experiences about different cities and regions of the United States. Spenser possesses character traits that children can relate to and that adults want children to emulate: curiosity, compassion, and a sense of adventure. He details his travels so children can learn the history, culture, and geography of different parts of the United States.

About the Author

Mom is the originator of the SpenserNation concept. Spenser is a nine-year-old Yorkshire terrier (Yorkie)—but never call him a dog. Mom developed these ideas as the result of comments from friends who received her e-mails about Spensers travels. Mom is, by profession, a health-care consultant and Spenser has traveled with her to jobs around the country since he was a pup. Mom cares deeply about hungry children in America and decided to use the skills God blessed her with to support the food banks associated with Feeding America. As part of their travels, Mom and Spenser have also been lucky enough to participate in some of Americas many serving organizations working to improve the lives of people.
