Publisher Comments:

At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy's instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea's forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

They have no choice. If the demigods don't succeed, Gaea's armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives  into the depths of Tartarus.

Review:

"In this adventure, victories are hard-won and the essence of bravery nuanced, making the journey as satisfying as it is entertaining." Kirkus Reviews

The House Of Hades The House of Hades is a great book filled with suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It has seven points of view because of the prophecy of seven which is a prophecy about seven demigods who must complete a quest to close the doors of death. The seven points of view are Percy's, Annabeth's, Leo's, Hazel's, Piper's, Jason's, and Frank's. The seven travel all around the world and encounter many hardships to get to their final destination. The plot twists around but you always have a grasp on what's going on. It's a great book and interesting if you like fiction books. When you get started it's hard to put the book down! The House of Hades is book number 4 of the series “Heroes of Olympus” and is six hundred pages of pure goodness! I give it two thumbs up! But let me just say… things aren't always as they seem.

The House of Hades by Rick Riordan is yet another astounding edge of your seat fantasy, sure to impress. This second to last book in the Heroes of Olympus series provides that one thing that Rick’s readers desire, suspense. Percy Jackson and his friends desperately try to save one another, all the while fighting their own battles. Rick Riordan has once again mastered the art of inspiring others to explore the world of the gods. Characterization and description is truly apparent in this novel. At the beginning of each chapter Rick has each of the protagonists narrate. Pick up the House of Hades today, you won’t regret it.

I have obsessed with what this book would be like once it finally came out. I was afraid it would disappoint me, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was everything I hoped it would be, and more! Dark and haunting, with several plot twists and character surprises. It reminded me of how much I loved the original Percy Jackson books when they first came out. I love this book, and how well Rick Riordan managed to capture the true darkness of the depths of Tartarus. I can't wait for the next one!
