Publisher Comments:

Because of a moment of indiscretion, Hope's parents send her to New York to spend the summer with her hipster sister while they travel to Thailand. Miserable, Hope ends up meeting Nat, and developing a powerful crush. The only problem is that Nat is a girl. Hope is pretty sure she isn't gay. Or is she? Struggling with new feelings, fitting in and a strange city far from home, Hope finds that love--and acceptance--comes in many different forms.

Carrie Mac has also written Orca Soundings novel Charmed, and her teen novel, The Beckoners, is also available. She lives in Vancouver, British Columbia and has spent time in New York City.

Synopsis:

Sent to live with her sister in New York while her parents travel for the summer, Hope starts a new friendship with a local girl that turns into something she didn't quite expect, in a moving teen tale about love, acceptance, and self-awareness. Simultaneous.

I am 17 years old and completley straight! i loved this book so much i have read it 3 times and i checked it out of the library yesterday. when Hope takes that first step of acceptance to realizing that she just might have feelings for Nat, you get excited with her. then when Hope and Nat join hands and kiss- YOU GET BUTTERFLIES TOO! the book is amazing and i wish that it didnt end so fast. i need a sequel or crush the second! Carrie Mac is an awesome writer. thanks for writing such a wonderful book.
