Condition Critical: A New Moral Vision for Health Care (Speaker's Corner)by Richard D. Lamm
Synopses & Reviews
"This book is meant to wake America up to a coming public policy train wreck." So begins this no-holds-barred analysis of our health care crisis and the difficult choices we will need to make to fix the system. This controversial essay explains why "blank check" medicine--unchecked spending and use of technology--is bad for our collective health. Healthcare experts Richard Lamm and Robert Blank explain why we need to embrace explicit rationing of medical care and take more individual responsibility for health, broaching subjects that are sure to generate discussion.
With medical costs skyrocketing and more Americans lacking adequate care, the debate over health care reform has escalated nationwide. Both state and federal policy makers are scrambling for a solution.
