Publisher Comments:

For more than twenty years, people who thought they couldnt write have been proven wrong by Natalie Goldbergs Zen approach. The trick is to regard writing as a Zen practice. It makes sense because Zen is backed by two thousand years of studying the mind. This expanded edition includes a new preface and an interview with Natalie where she reflects on the relationship between Zen sitting practice and writing, the importance of place, and the power of memory.

About the Author

Natalie Goldberg is the author of ten books. Writing Down the Bones, her first, has sold over one million copies and has been translated into twelve languages. For the last thirty years she has practiced Zen and taught seminars in writing as a spiritual practice. She lives in New Mexico.

I had to read this for my Creative Writing class and I absolutely loved it. It was so good and absolutely inspiring. It really helped me to get back on my writing feet and get the courage to get writing again. Even if this isn’t required for a class, I still recommend it if you’re interested in writing at all. Not only is it good for writing, it’s good for life. It makes writing out to be a lifestyle and it really is.
