Still at the Sohma family vacation house, Tohru and the gang are obliged to visit Akito everyday because Akito is at the other vacation house. However, day after day relationships get more complicated and forbidden love blossoms. But most importantly Tohru's resolve is hardened when Akito's true identity is revealed.

About the Author

Natsuki Takaya made her manga debut in 1992. She was born in Tokyo and her Blood Type is A.

Gen'eimusou - 5 vols - serialized in Hana to Yume
Tsubasa o motsu Mono (Men with Wings)

Series Description

The enigmatic Sohma family shares a great secret, its members are possessed by spirits of the Chinese Zodiac, and when they are hugged by members of the opposite sex, they transform into their Zodiac animal! Tohru Honda, an orphaned high school freshman, is given lodging in the Sohma household in exchange for taking care of household chores. The humble Tohru is quite grateful for the Sohma family's generosity, and the longer she stays with them, the more they realize what a blessing she is in their lives, as well.

Fruits Basket, the manga, is the basis for the smash-hit runaway anime show of the same name. It is most eagerly-awaited manga series - as voted on by thousands of fans visiting the TOKYOPOP website - in many, many years.

Fruits basket is by far my favorite book series. This volume is one of my all time favorites, in just one day I have already read it twice! This book has enough romance to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside but not too much that its completly mushy. My friend and I agree that the part when Kyo is confessing his love for Torhu is the best part. If you enjoy anime or any kind of romance books I highly recommend reading these books especially this one. Even if you don't enjoy romance you would still enjoy this book!!

Although I love reading the other fruits basket manga, I have to say that this one is one of my most favourite because Kyou confesses his love for Tohru.
He confided in the wrong person, though. I love all the characters, and I hope that Tohru and Kyou get to be together someday.
I cannot wait to read volume 13!
