You will learn how to clean a young child, how to deal with crying and late night feedings, getting sleep, getting your child to sleep, getting back to work for the first time, dressing your child, and how to take them out of the house.

You will learn how to maintain your sanity and when you might expect your sex life to resume. You will learn how to deal with health issues your child may have, how to deal with teething, and where to take a young child. Learn what to expect from growing children and how to play with them effectively. Learn about bathing and haircuts and how your role as a father will vary from that of the mother depending on who is working and how much. No matter what your situation is, this book will guide you through the earliest weeks of your child’s life to the growing, learning phases of their toddler years as you learn how to be a father for the first time.

From time you first find out your going to be a dad to the point where your child makes their grand entrance in the world, there’s so much to learn along the way. This book seems to have it all covered. In fact much of the material, I never would have even thought about.

I‘m actually on the road to fatherhood myself and this guide has and will continue to be a map to me along the way. From an emotional standpoint that both the mother and father face, as well as communication, physical changes, eating habits, this book touches on everything, even loss (though miscarriage, etc.) and the physiological implications of that.

Mixed with humor and practical advice about everything from your feelings to food and baby names, this book is a must read for anyone who’s approaching fatherhood. I give it five stars.
