About the Author

Roch Carrier was born in 1937 in Sainte-Justine-de-Dorchester, Québec. He is the author of more than fifteen novels and numerous childrens books, short story collections, poetry collections, and plays. He was director of the Canada Council for the Arts from 1994 to 1997, and he served as the National Librarian of Canada from 1999 to 2004. Carrier is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and an Officer of the Order of Canada. He lives in Montreal.
