Publisher Comments:

A Brief History of Rome covers the greatest civilization of the ancient world, from the formation of the primitive Rome and the Republic to the fall of the empire—its culture, its protagonists, and its key episodes. A new and masterful synthesis based on recent archaeological discoveries, this work narrates with scientific rigor and informative tone the complete history of Ancient Rome, avoiding academic formalism, in order to be accessible to the widest readership. It addresses the more unknown or distorted issues of the Roman civilization and is the only book in Spanish on the market that does so. It includes practical documentary annexes where archaeological, epigraphic, numismatic, artistic, and literary materials are displayed, together with maps, planimetry, genealogies, chronologies, glossaries, and maps of content on the most relevant aspects of the Roman civilization (evolution of slavery, the Patrician–Plebeian conflict, courts and assemblies, dynasties and emperors, religion, currency, art, and Roman engineering), including collected documents that have not been published before.
