Alex Rider: Stormbreaker Tie-In Novelby Anthony Horowitz
Synopses & Reviews
Nothing can prepare fourteen-year-old Alex for the news that the uncle he always thought he knew was really a spy for MI6 — Britain's top-secret intelligence agency. Recruited to find his uncle’s killers and complete his final mission, Alex suddenly finds himself caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse. This is the original novel that started it all, with 8 pages of movie stills from Alex Rider: Stormbreaker, and a new cover featuring stunning movie art!
"An entertaining, nicely layered novel, especially for boys who may not like to read but have a soft spot for good-verses-evil adventure." Booklist
"What if James Bond had started spying as a teenager? Non-stop action keeps the intrigue boiling." Kirkus Reviews
"The novel provides bang after bang....Alex is a strong, smart hero. If readers consider luck the ruling factor in his universe, they will love this James Bond-style adventure....an excellent choice for reluctant readers." School Library Journal
Horowitz's "New York Times" bestselling series finally comes to the big screen on August 18, with the film adaptation of the novel that introduced the world to 14-year-old MI6 agent Alex Ryder.
About the Author
Anthony Horowitz is perhaps the busiest writer in England. He has been writing since the age of eight, and professionally since the age of twenty. He writes in a comfortable shed in his garden for up to ten hours per day. In addition to the highly successful "Alex Rider" books, he has also written episodes of several popular TV crime series, including Poirot, Murder in Mind, Midsomer Murders and Murder Most Horrid. He has written a television series Foyle's War, which recently aired in the United States, and he has written the libretto of a Broadway musical adapted from Dr. Seuss's book, The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T. His film script The Gathering has just finished production. And...oh yes...there are more Alex Rider novels in the works. Anthony has also written the "Diamond Brothers" series.
