Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Tails are irresistible to toddlers--though most are beyond the reach of small hands. But now there's reason for tail fans everywhere to rejoice: a colorful collection of tails created just for those eager toddlers to tug, pat, and even scratch and sniff!

Matthew Van Fleet's lovable menagerie features furry tails, spiny tails, shiny tails, and tails that wag--all designed to inspire and withstand hours of interactive play. While pulling tabs and opening gatefolds, those tail tuggers can also learn to count from one to ten. Tails is so full of action and fun that even parents will revel in repeated readings.

Review:

"A waggish survey of the animal world's very own happy endings." Parenting Magazine

Review:

"Youngsters will hardly realize how much they're learning in this entertaining and eye-catching caper." Publishers Weekly

Synopsis:

Tails are irresistible to toddlers, and in Matthew Van Fleets sturdy touch-and-feel board book, preschool-age pokers and prodders can finally tug to their hearts content. Engaging, cartoonish animals from tigers to pangolins romp across the pages as the rhyming text bounces along: “Tails fluffy, / Tails stringy, / Scaled tails strong and—clingy!” Pull tabs, lift-able flaps, tufts of fur, and even a scratch-and-sniff skunk tail provide plenty of tactile surprises. Along the way, youngsters will learn about counting, opposites, and how animals use their tails. A tried and true tail-wagger!

This is such a neat, interactive book. Filled with textures that kids love to touch, along with some moveable parts, and a large flip out page with all the animals. Nice to read aloud - really grabs their attention.

My daughter received this book for her first birthday. It has been a HUGE hit with her and with my two year old. It has TONS of things to feel, open, and move. It is their must read book every night, and honestly I really love it too!
