Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

This hardcover book with internal wire-o binding is 6.5in x 8in, a perfect size for musicians to keep handy and laid out next to their instrument. The binding allows it to lie open flat for easy reference during practice. The stylish design of the book, along with the interior photographs, illustrations and diagrams, make the learning process simple and fun for beginners, and enthusiasts will find hidden gems throughout. The book also includes an audio CD for examples and accompaniment.

Cheap to buy, quick to learn, fun to play: spend an hour or so with a ukulele and you'll already be able to strum through the accompaniment to a few well-known songs just for the fun of it. That is the mission of this book: getting the first-time ukulele player up and started, enjoying music, having fun, and ready and equipped to move to the next level. Practice the exercises in this book, and you'll be able to play whatever music you like, from pop to classical to jazz. Or you can just sit down with the uku on your knee and pick out a simple tune of your own.

This book includes: CD, carefully structured, illustrated lessons, clear tabular diagrams, close-up photographs to demonstrate finger positions, a chord library, scale library, PLUS simple tunes for the beginner to play along to.

Synopsis:

A complete guide to the Uke from the ground up:  Chords, strumming styles, fingering, riffs, songs, and more.  Includes CD.
