Santa's Hat Cover

Excerpt

Today was Christmas Eve and the North Poles annual snow festival.

Everyone—from the elves to the snow bunnies to the reindeer—participated.

Santas favorite part was watching the snowman building event.

“Put a hat on if youre going outside,” Mrs. Claus said to Santa. “You dont want to get another cold.”

“I cant find my hat,” said Santa. “Ive looked everywhere.”

“Wear one of these,” said Mrs. Claus. She opened a chest full of hats.

Santas dogs, Bell and Bow, pawed through the hats of all different shapes and sizes.

"Publishers Weekly Review" by , "Santa may know who's been naughty or nice, but he has no idea where he left his trademark hat in this goofy, featherlight story from Bleck (The Longest Day: Celebrating the Summer Solstice). As Santa tries on various replacement hats, he imagines himself as a hockey player, cowboy ('Giddy up, Blitzen!' he shouts, as the reindeer rears on his hind legs), Sherlock Holmes — style detective, train engineer, and more. These imaginary scenes, portrayed with humor in Bleck's cheerful illustrations, are the best part of the otherwise flimsy hook on which this story hangs its hat. Ages 4 — 8. Agent: Lori Nowicki, Painted Words." Publishers Weekly Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
