By day Risika sleeps in a shaded room. By night she hunts on the streets of New York City. She is being followed and someone has left her a black rose, the same color rose that sealed her fate 300 years ago. Three hundred years ago she was a human named Rachel and had a family. Now she is a powerful vampire with a past coming back to haunt her.

Synopsis:

Atwater-Rhodes was 13 years old when she wrote this suspenseful yarn about a powerful vampire whose past comes back to haunt her. As Risika hunts the streets of New York City at night, someone follows her and leaves her a black rose--the same color rose that sealed her fate 300 years ago.

This book was amazing. It fell right into my kinda catagory. Unfortunately, it wasn't huge, so it's hard to find, but it's worth the read. It's definitely different.
