Publisher Comments:

Aunt Blythe's house gives Andrew the creeps — full of dark rooms, creaky noises, and the sound of a woman sobbing somewhere in the shadows. Then, in the middle of the night, Andrew awakens to find a boy standing in his room...a boy who is Andrew's double, except he looks as if he's come from the grave. He wants to follow him — to a place where he will meet the spirits of long-dead ancestors...a place from which Andrew may never return.

This is one of my favorite books. It is an easy to read book that sends the imagination flying. Drew goes to stay with his aunt over the summer while his parents are away. His room has a door to the attic where he finds a box of marbles with a note and a picture of a boy that looks like he could be Drews twin. The boy, Andrew, comes out of the attic that night and tries to make Drew get out of "his" bed. Noticing Andrew is very sick, they switch places. When Drew first goes back in time he is only concerned with getting home again and keeps comparing his life to life in 1910. Each night Drew goes to the attic to play marbles with Andrew. The deal is, when Drew beats Andrew in marbles, Drew will be allowed to return home. I have read this book many times and I have never gotten tired of reading it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
