Soul Who Sings Lead, January 25, 2011 (view all comments by Soul Who Sings Lead)
Being a booklover and a music-lover.... and loving lyrics and words the way my whole family does, I
found the Book on Cole Porter to be both sweet and true to life... What a talent! What a tortured
soul he was - what great quotes to read about so many famous and talented people... I found many
passages that hit home for my Father and his love of lyrics in Barbershop Harmony (I love lyrics, too)
and there are bits that describe "A GOOD SONG" so well that my Dad might even quote from this book
in the April 2nd Tribute Show to my 2nd Mom that the Eureka, CA. Humboldt Harmonaires Spring Show
is going to be.
As a disabled person, I sure appreciate the joy of finding out at age 43! that I not only could carry
a tune, but had a GOOD voice....well, it gave me hope and joy, tho I am limited to singing at home as
my different issues with my body are "mostly" in charge at present. We never know what the future
will bring! "Life is What We Make It"... is the opening line to "Side by Side" and oh, there are so
many ways to view LIFE. The glass is ALWAYS half-full, cuz that is me... a disgustingly talkative
optimist - even in the face of Reality.
