The bottom line first: We've tried 4 recipes so far, and each of them exceeded expectations as far as how great they tasted!

The format is pretty standard for a cookbook, which is good because it is easy to find recipes within the categories. The introduction is helpful especially for the uninitiated, but there are enough hints for more experienced Slow Cook cooks to make it worth reading and/or reviewing.

I would say that there is somewhat more prep time than some might expect to make these recipes work. The ingredients are not all just "thrown in." But once all the ingredients are in the Slow Cooker you will be rewarded with a great meal without any worry or additional attention. Also you can control the cost with the quality of ingredients, so I would say Slow Cooking is more of a "good value" rather than necessarily inexpensive.

We are very selective in adding new cookbooks, but this one is a keeper.
