B.K.S. Iyengar—hailed as "the Michelangelo of yoga" (BBC) and considered by many to be the most important living yoga master—has spent much of his life introducing the modern world to the ancient practice of yoga. Yogas popularity is soaring, but its widespread acceptance as an exercise for physical fitness and the recognition of its health benefits have not been matched by an understanding of the emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development that the yogic tradition can also offer. In Light on Life, B.K.S. Iyengar brings readers this new and more complete understanding of the yogic journey. Written with the depth of this sages great wisdom, Light on Life is the culmination of a masters spiritual genius, a treasured companion to his seminal Light on Yoga.

After years of thumbing through Light on Yoga by B.K.S. Iyengar, THIS book answers many philosophical questions that the author only touched upon in that first, so-called 'bible of yoga'. A fitting companion to any other spiritual, or dare I say religious, readings of whatever vein. Iyengar gives frank discussion of his path in life and guidance for adults, including those raising children, that for this reader helped bring aha moments, sort of bringing the chaos of choices into a river sided by banks of loving discipline.

The perfect match to Light on Yoga, or a stand alone read, provided you understand some of the vocabulary. The last few chapters make it all come together and for me a perfect addition to my study of Yoganana's Self Realization Fellowship lessons.
