I'm enjoying following through with some of the suggestions offered in this book. I'm also seeing more and more parents responding to my efforts, and I'm seeing their children more involved in their work. Best of all, I'm hearing about more read alouds taking place at home. Especially with parents who haven't read much to their children before. The cost of the book, plus the effort to read the book and follow through, is well worth the money and time. It's easy to read, easy to follow through, and the letters and handouts to send home to parents make the work even easier.

This is a great resource for both teachers and parents. Packed with useful information for busy teachers to pass onto parents of all readers. Starts with the read aloud, moves onto phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. Includes games to play and summer activities. Even has letters and handouts for teachers to send home to parents. Both in print and CD format. While written primarily for teachers, can also be appropriate for parents.
