This story is like an electric getaway, and you get swept away in it. It's about needing to escape your daily life and getting just that, amid a wash of booze and cigarettes and art and foreign men. And like so much, no matter where you go, there you are. And, in this case, it's a story told masterfully. She captures mood and place effectively and tragically.
