This book has earned a place on my shelf. At times while reading it I could barely breath, right along with the characters. The stark story takes place after the apocalypse and the world as we know it has been destroyed. But at least two people survive and this tale is between a protective father and his young son as they struggle to stay alive. The story is not cheery, but is compelling. And never before I have witnessed such skill at using the sparce text to add to the destitute circumstance. It almost stands out like a third character. Any other writer would not have succeeded, and it left me in awe of Carmac McCarthy's talent.

Beautiful imagery throughout the book. But a heartrending story. The dialogue is different and takes a little while getting used to. But it is unique. Definitely belongs in a dystopian collection.

You never know, this type of thing could happen one day. THis book was written a little different than most I read, the way the conversations went. It was a book I could not put down.
