I devoured this book with "The History of Art" and "History of Modern Art" as my guidebooks. How so much art was "appropriated", moved, hidden and then rediscovered, removed and returned in 4-5 short years is beyond comprehension. Nicholas brought home the importance of art to civilizations past, present and future. Without art there is no culture; without culture there is no civilization.
