Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

The only comprehensive gathering of Frost's published poetry, this affordable volume offers the entire contents of his eleven books of verse, from A Boy's Will (1913) to In the Clearing (1962). Frost scholar Lathem, who was also a close friend of the four-time Pulitzer Prize-winner, scrupulously annotated the 350-plus poems in this collection, which has been the standard edition of Frost's work since it first appeared in 1969.

Reread Frost (again) this fall, and was stunned (again) by how much he accomplishes in so few moves. A great master, constantly reminding us that the world, bad as it is, must be loved, and constantly showing us how to love it.

First things first: Don't let 'Softcover' throw you off this Henry Holt edition. Mine was bought probably 5th hand. It is a treasure I would never part with. It has held up very well to my constant thumbing through it. Now... if you have never had the opportunity to savour a true American Master, now is your chance. They are all here. Stopping By The Woods On A Snowy Evening,The Mending Wall,The Road Not Taken...they are all here, complete and unabridged. If you get this, you will not be sorry.
