About the Author

Author Nick Ray immersed himself in Cambodian culture to update and significantly expand Cambodia for this 3rd edition. He built upon the efforts of Tony Wheeler and Daniel Robinson, who wrote the original work, and Chris Taylor, who updated the book for its 2nd edition.

A Londoner of sorts, Nick comes from Watford, the sort of town that makes you want to travel. He studied history and politics at the University of Warwick and staggered out a few years later, dazed and confused, clutching a piece of paper that said he knew stuff about things. After a stint as a journalist in London, he decided the bind and grind of office hours was not for him and headed overseas. During this time he found himself leading people astray on adventure tours in countries from Morocco to Vietnam. But Cambodia was the one country that really got under his skin and he likes to think of it as something of a base these days. If you spend enough time in the Heart of Darkness bar in Phnom Penh you'll probably run into him.
