About the Author

The author, James R. Senft, is a university professor with over two decades of research experience in heat engines. He has written and lectured extensively on Stirling engines, and served as consultant to universities, laboratories and industrail organizations working on engine development. Dr. Senft also enjoys building working models of Stirling engines.

If you have any inclinations to make a low temperature differential Stirling engine, this is the definative book for any calculations and dimentional issues in making your engine a success.

Dr. Senft takes the history behind these engines and makes the science understandable to the layman, while defining the mathematics for the technician or scientist, along with demonstrating the tips and pitfalls to avoid.

If you have any serious interest in Stirling engines, this book has a place on your bookshelf.
