Fronterizo artist Francisco Delgadowas born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahuain 1974. He attended the Universityof Texasat El Pasowhere he received several honorary awards and a BFA. He received his MFA from the Yale School ofArt. His paintings have been on bookcovers, in national art exhibits, private collections and communityinstitutions. Delgado's first picture book was ¡Si, Se Puede! / Yes, WeCan!(Cinco Puntos, 2002). Francisco and his wife Barbara have two childrenPedro and Citlali.

About the Author
Lee Merrill Byrd loves what happens when her grandchildren wander through the neighborhood. Her first children's book Treasure on Gold Street followed her granddaughter Hannah. Now it's Little Johnny's turn. Algonquin published her first novel in Spring 2006. Francisco Delgado, the illustrator, grew up in Juand#225;rez, Chihuahua, but completed high school in El Paso. He received his MFA at Yale in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking in May 2002. Francisco is becoming known nationally for his political paintings that satirize U.S. icons blind to the meztizo and immigrant communities of Mexico. He lives in New Haven, Connecticut.
