About the Author
Bonnie Henderson grew up in Portland, Oregon, and spent most family vacations hiking and backpacking in Mount Hood National Forest. During college she began guiding whitewater raft trips and leading teenagers on wilderness backpacking trips in the Rocky, Cascade, and Olympic Mountains and later taught cross-country skiing. She has a master's degree in journalism and spent six years as a travel editor with Sunset magazine. She is now a writer and editor living in Eugene, Oregon
