Synopses & Reviews
Jelly Roll is the fun name given to a roll of pre-cut strips of fabric designed by Moda, the American fabric manufacturer. It is a great way to buy coordinated fabrics that are already cut into useful 2½in (6.5cm) wide strips. Quilters all over the world use them to make patchwork quilts, and often there are a few strips left over. Now you no longer have to assign these to the waste bin, but instead you can turn them into beautiful gifts and accessories using the simple instructions in this book. There are 20 gorgeous projects to choose from, including a fabulous patchwork cushion in the shape of a dog, a pretty little drawstring bag, mini bunting, hanging fish and a quirky set of Russian dolls, all using simple techniques that even those new to sewing will be able to accomplish. Of course, there is nothing to stop you cutting your own fabric to the required sizes, and you can even buy Mini Charm™ packs that instantly give you a good selection of ready-cut 2½in (6.5cm) squares.

Quilters and patchworkers all over the world are familiar with Jelly Rolls - bundles of coordinating fabrics manufactured by Moda, pre-cut into useful 21/2in (6.5cm) strips. But what do you do with all those left-over pieces once you've made your patchwork quilt? Instead of assigning them to the waste bin, save them up and you will soon have enough to stitch at least one of the fun projects in this book. Using simple sewing, quilting and patchwork techniques, there are twenty projects to choose from, including stylish cushions, pretty little bags and a handy pincushion, all of which are quick and easy to make. If you don't use Jelly Rolls, any odd scraps of fabric can be used instead - just cut them to size and away you go All the templates are provided as well as some basic tips and techniques, and each project is accompanied by a list of the materials and tools you need, and clear, step-by-step instructions.
