The uncertainty, and the errors of the early applications, rendered the progrefs of the practice flow and doubtful nor has 'the experience, or the fuccefs of recent and more numerous practitioners, been ifufii cient to determine the precife power of the aerial fluids, or/to diflipate the doubts which are {till entertained concerning their ufe.
