Synopses & Reviews
October 16, 1995, was one of the greatest days in the history of Black men in the United States. It was a day of atonement, a day of spiritual renewal, and a day of reconciliation.
Atonement: The Million Man March captures the spirit of the march through reflections of men who were eyewitnesses to this great day. Theirs are the voices of mail clerks, doctors, students, lawyers, activists. They are fathers and sons, uncles and nephews, young and old, from different backgrounds and different regions -- but all answering to a single divine call. These men also share their thoughts of "What now?" with words of inspiration and hope to help explore what can be done in their own lives, homes, and communities. Atonement shares their joys, their hopes, and their pain.
Atonement includes photos of the march, selected speeches, and a resource list of social organizations around the nation for readers to use as a networking vehicle.
