About the Author
Ron Haefner teaches automotive technology at Columbus High School in Columbus, Nebraska. He earned two bachelor of science degrees, one in industrial technology and the other in industrial education, as well as a master of science in industrial education. As an automotive instructor, Haefner¿s record is exceptional -- his students have been winners of manufacturer-sponsored state and national skills contests on nine separate occasions. Haefner also wrote The Car Care Book, Third Edition (Thomson Delmar Learning, 2004). Paul Leathers teaches electronics to automotive and other students at Columbus High School in Columbus, NE. His students won state SkillsUSA competitions in electronics in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. Before embarking on his teaching career, Leathers spent ten years in the US Army as a combat engineer, and then owned and operated automotive and collision repair facilities. He is a Ford Master Technician, an ASE Master Technician in automotive and heavy truck, and he holds an ASE L1 Certification.
