Synopses & Reviews
An extremely funny and clever action-comedy-political satire set almost entirely in Bali, Bali & Oates is the first book in a trilogy. The Australian PM visits Bali to sign the Bali Oil & Gas Access Negotiation agreement (BOGAN), but officers from ASIO, ASIS, and AFP (all male and incompetent) believe there is a terrorist threat. The Australian consul-general, assisted by a sixty-year-old digital-whiz Granny Geek, soon realize that an apparent terrorist group such as B.U.T.T. may have been created by another Australian diplomat who was researching a novel about threats to a prime minister visiting Bali to sign the BOGAN agreement— or maybe not.
About the Author
AUTHOR-Paul Greenway spent one previous life working for an Australian intelligence service in Sydney, Darwin and Canberra (but he can't tell you any more). He then joined Lonely Planet, writing guidebooks to Mongolia, Iran, Botswana, Poland and Ken-ya, among others-as well as Bali. After realising he was too old to write for backpackers, Paul became a high school teacher in Australia, lived in Indonesia promoting educational development programs, and more recently wrote another guidebook and a photo book about his favourite island. Neglecting to get married, Paul now lives in Adelaide, South Australia.
