Synopsis
Ram Dass's long-awaited Be Love Now is the transformational story of a forty year journey to the center of being. Dass, author of the spiritual classic Remember, Be Here Now and its influential sequel Still Here, is joined by Rameshwar Das, his collaborator from the "Love Serve Remember" audio recordings, in this inspiring exploration of the human soul.
Dass tracks the stages of his own awakening, from his days as a Harvard psychologist to his psychedelic explorations and encounter with his guru, as well as his struggles along the path and hard-won wisdom. The different stages of life, death and awareness are all shown to be an essential part of spiritual evolution in this accessible, funny, and enlightening book.
Ram Dass is one of America's most beloved spiritual figures. As Dr. Richard Alpert, a Harvard psychologist, he and Timothy Leary pioneered the study of psychedelic drugs. His interest in spirituality led him to studies with a guru in India and a new name. Dass has since been a major influence on the counterculture of the 60's, a spiritual teacher and an advocate for ecology, socially-conscious business practices, and care for the dying.
Rameshwar Das was born James Lytton and works as a photographer and writer. He has worked on several projects with Ram Dass, including the original box that became Be Here Now and the "Love Serve Remember" recordings.
