Synopses & Reviews
There are books that make you laugh. There are books that make you cry. There are books that teach you how to live day by day in a fallen world.
The Best Life Ain't Easy is all of them! Virelle Kidder says, "e;This is the story of my life before [and after] Christ, growing up in the average American dysfunctional family. My father, whom I loved dearly, suffered from an untreated mental illness and alcoholism, eventually leaving my mother, brother, and me when I was seven. He died when I was twelve. My mother sought normalcy; I sought the brass ring. Almost instantly at age 25, I met Christ, and He spoiled everything."e;
Life is better caught than taught. As a woman of any age, you will identify with life, in some manner, as Virelle knew it. And by the end of the story, you will hopefully identify with Jesus!
Review
While reading The Best Life Ain't Easy, But It's Worth It, I felt like a close friend had invited me to her home for tea, prepared her best dessert, and asked me to "e;settle in"e; for a never-to-be-forgotten afternoon of catching up on each other's life-long lessons on expectations, disappointments, longings, faith, and dreams for the future. Don’t miss this remarkable memoir. It will teach you how to get up when you fall, recapture momentum when hopes are dashed, and reveal the glorious mystery of finding joy in an imperfect world. I love this book!

Bottom Line? The Best Life Ain’t Easy is a good, old-fashioned salvation story that reads like a novel. I had several manuscripts ahead of it in my must-read pile then made the mistake of attempting to just scan the first few pages. I know this is a cliché, but I couldn’t put it down. Don’t miss this one.

Truly, her life has not been easy, but with the turn of every page there is proof it has been worth it. For a good read, a book of insight, a journey with a sister--get this book--settle down and read it. You will be blessed, challenged, and when all is said and done, you will have found a new friend named Virelle.

Reading The Best Life Ain't Easy, But It's Worth It was like peering at a collection of simple stories that produced an amazing life. We need this reminder that God makes no mistakes. This book helped me see that God really does have a plan for each of us even though it may not make sense to us until we canlook back, and then with Virelle we can say, "e;Jesus truly led me all the way."e;
