BEVERLY COX is food editor of Native Peoples magazine and former food editor and director of food styling for Cook's magazine. She is the author of ten cookbooks, including-with Martin Jacobs-Spirit of the Harvest, winner of the IACP Cookbook and James Beard awards, Spirit of the West, winner of the IACP Cookbook award, and Spirit of the Earth (all Stewart, Tabori & Chang). She lives in Colorado on a ranch homesteaded by her great-grandfather in 1870.
