About the Author
andlt;Bandgt;Robert Louis Stevensonandlt;/Bandgt; was born on November 13, 1850. He spent his childhood in Edinburgh, Scotland, but traveled widely in the United States and throughout the South Seas. The author of many novels, including andlt;Iandgt;The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Kidnapped, The Black Arrow,andlt;/Iandgt; and andlt;Iandgt;Treasure Island,andlt;/Iandgt; he died in 1894.andlt;Bandgt;Daniel Kirkandlt;/Bandgt; has written and illustrated numerous books, including andlt;Iandgt;Hush, Little Alien; Bigger; Humpty Dumpty; Jack and Jill; Moondogsandlt;/Iandgt;; and andlt;Iandgt;Snow Familyandlt;/Iandgt;. In addition he has illustrated two poetry collections; andlt;Iandgt;Go!andlt;/Iandgt; and andlt;Iandgt;Dogs Rule!andlt;/Iandgt;; and several titles by other authors, namely andlt;Iandgt;Chugga Chugga Choo Chooandlt;/Iandgt; and andlt;Iandgt;My Truck Is Stuckandlt;/Iandgt; by Kevin Lewis, and andlt;Iandgt;Hello, Hello!andlt;/Iandgt; by Miriam Schlein. Kirk lives in New Jersey with his wife, author-illustrator Julia Gordon, and three teenage children.
